Year 2011, at the end of monsoon season, continues torrential rains havoc the southern districts of Sindh Pakistan. 23 districts were badly affected. The floods damaged the areas that were already extremely poor and added to miseries of the people by creating food insecurity, shortage of safe drinking water and wide spread of water borne diseases in the area. JAGGARTA with the mandate for provision of safe drinking water to the disaster affected communities planned install Hand Pumps.
Year 2011, at the end of monsoon season, continues torrential rains havoc the southern districts of Sindh. The Continues rains and bad planning of LBOD (left Bank out fall drain) caused southern districts floated. It has been observed that some of the (IDPs) are returning back to their devastated villages and are struggling to re-establish their lives and very difficult to access for safe drinking water at their village.
Considering the fact that Taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad of District Mirpurkhas one of the most badly affected by monsoon flood 2011, if we will carry out the proposed project the installed hand pumps will benefit around 1200 families who are still deprived of hygienic drinking water facility. We are positive that is going to bring a relief to the area and reduce the occurrence of water borne diseases.
The present and the future generation of 600 families will face lesser incidents of death and malfunctioning.
