A charity of nurses has created vital care packages called, "Cases of LOVE." As pediatric nurses, we know Texas may soon be facing an unprecedented health crisis. Our most precious and vulnerable flood ravaged infants and children are at risk. Their little bodies are now primed for illness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and Failure-to-Thrive issues. Our Cases Of Love, care packages are pillow-cases stuffed with love, and the needed nourishing supplies to help them survive and thrive.
America's largest catastrophic event; Hurricane Harvey has successfully enlisted countless rescue workers and numerous relief agencies. All are working long hard hours along the Gulf Coast, to help the thousands of displaced families whose lives have been devastated by Harvey. But their honorable efforts, will not be enough to address our vast humanitarian crisis associated from Harvey's intense rainfall. As pediatric nurses, we know, Texas may be soon facing epic environmental health issues.
Cases of Love: are pillow-cases stuffed with love and the needed nourishing supplies to help infants and young children survive within their devastating humanitarian crisis. By providing AIW's "Cases of Love" care packages which, includes high quality and/or specialty formulas, bottles, sippy cups, baby wipes, diapers, clothing, blankets, and age-appropriate toys. Also included within the pillow-cases are self-addressed note cards which, allows the recipients to contact us for more supplies.
Early estimates say only about 1 in 5 homes in the greater Houston area are covered by flood insurance, which could lead uninsured families wiped out by Harvey to abandon their homes or take on heavy debts to meet their basic needs. Currently as this humanitarian crisis unfolds; Angels In Waiting has enlisted local churches and our expanding on-line community to implement our "Cases of Love" vital care packages within their neighborhoods and churches. Together we can save countless childhoods.
