Summary

Providing a safe and secure place to children who are vulnerable, orphaned, semi-orphaned, deserted, extremely poor or who has a parent in prison. The home will accommodate 50 qualifying girls and boys.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The children's safety is the first priority and the project aims at giving them a feeling of belonging and affection. The children raised here will be citizens with confidence and courage to build a bright future for themselves and people around them. Focus is on female children who are more vulnerable to abuse.

How will this project solve this problem?

The organisation has a small home which was bought for these children. The home is currently 600 sq.ft. with two small bedrooms. The extended structure will have one more bedroom to accommodate the boys and girls seperately and a 600 sq.ft. hall for study.

Potential Long Term Impact

These children, orphaned or uncared-for due to extenuating circumstances, are being given a foundation and the chance to grow into intelligent and responsible adults. To keep abreast to the fast changing world, the organization proposes to give them training in areas of their skill.

Project Message

I have seen many orphanages in my career, but this one should be called a sanctuary for children, and it shows in the smiles and glow in the eyes of the children that New Life is caring for.
