Goats make a big difference in Haiti. They provide a great source of protein and income. Thanks to the self-sufficient projects run by grassroots groups that partner with Lambi Fund, members who once lived meal to meal are now able to get things they could only dream of before — education, health care, dignity and self-respect.
If we provide 132 goats, supplies and training to the organization Asosyasyon pou Pwoteksyon Anviwonnman Gwomòn (APEG), 160 members will pass on their knowledge and new goats to others so that it becomes a self-perpetuating sustainable enterprise.
Total Funding Received to Date: $3,152
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $28,048
Total Funding Goal: $31,200
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
With the extra income provided by the sale of goats at the market, children will have steady meals, improved health, go to school and have hope for the future. More importantly, 160 members will become self-sufficient.
"Before we got the goats we were very poor. Now that we are raising goats, we have enough money to feed our families and even send our children to school. Our children have a hopeful future now."
