Join us on March 8, 2024, for International Women's Day, as we launch the #Mobile4Akka campaign. The #Mobile4Akka campaign is tailored to address the digital and financial disparities that hinder access to essential services and opportunities. It will help bridge the digital divide, access social entitlements, utilise banking services, manage digital payments, and explore online resources for personal and professional growth. Migrant women workers often face a significant gap in digital and financial knowledge, posing challenges to their economic empowerment and overall well-being. Poor financial inclusion, low levels of literacy among migrant women workers compromise their access to social security schemes. Women migrant workers often miss out on entitled benefits due to a lack of knowledge about social entitlements offered by central and state governments.
Through this project, Sampark aims to increase awareness on the issue of digital and financial inclusion for the migrant workers in Bangalore and create a neighbourhood support network to sustain the efforts, as the population is migratory in nature. Sampark will reach out to 100 migrant women who are like local leaders, working for the welfare of the migrant workers and residing in the labour colonies, to elevate them to the status of digital youth champions.
1. It will help empower migrant workers in the informal sector through enhanced digital and financial literacy. 2. It will help form a cadre of digital youth champions through advanced training programmes. 3. It will help facilitate migrant workers access to government entitlements through documentation support.
