Feed Denver farms year-round. Our communities need your help preparing for the winter with crop covers, warm clothing, solar heat, and continued education for our farmers.
We live in a metro area with four million people and we rely on our food coming from up to 5000 miles away and from sources unknown. Summer farm markets are great and should be embraced but where do we get our winter food? We eat year round, so we need to create food year round in Colorado. Farming can be done in healthy, deeply organic ways through the winter. Farmers can continue working through the winter making fresh, nutritious food with the appropriate preparations and support.
Feed Denver creates model urban farms inside communities of need. By preparing structures and our teams for winter farming our operations can carry on through the cold season holding onto jobs and growing fresh, nutritious food.
Our goal at Feed Denver is to create sustainable farming operations inside the city while modelling and teaching these skills and techniques. Our farms are located in inner-city communities of need providing jobs and fresh food inside neighborhoods.
