Fair Haven RCC is the only Stand-Alone Rape Crisis Center in Indiana & provides survivors of sexual violence with a 24/hour crisis response line. Our Direct Service Advocates respond to all 10 emergency rooms within our community. Sexual violence is a public health issue. Every 73 seconds, someone in America is sexually assaulted. Fair Haven is the only stand alone rape crisis center serving the second largest county in Indiana, responding 24/7 to meet the needs of Survivors of sex crimes & non-offending family members from the onset of trauma/crisis throughout the healing process.
Fair Haven's programs provide core services to survivors, which are basic services that meet the immediate needs and maintain supportive services until the survivor no longer seeks assistance. Our core services include 24-hour crisis response line, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, case management, individual advocacy, support groups, professional therapy, information referrals, community awareness and education. All services, including professional therapy, are provided FREE of charge!
No other violent crime against a person is treated so injustly by society than rape and other sex crimes. Victim blaming and rape culture continue to be a pervasive problem that Survivors face. A good first step in responding to the needs of Survivors has been through the establishment of a trauma competent, victim centered advocacy program. An Advocate plays a crucial role in standing in the gap for Survivors when the Survivor's pressing need for protection and justice is disregarded.
