Expanding rural communities’ capacity is critical to long-term recovery in Haiti. Massive migration to rural areas demands sustainable agriculture projects expand to feed and support entire communities with locally grown food.
It is essential that Haiti’s capacity for local food production is strengthened – not diminished – in the wake of this disaster.
