Project Personnel

Sally Jewell Coxe - President, Bonobo Conservation Initiative

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate in psychology from Williams College, Ms. Coxe works to unite, motivate and empower the Congolese government, NGOs and communities to protect bonobos and the rainforests in which they live. Her work has resulted in agreements to protect over 11,000 square miles of Congo rainforests that are key to the survival of bonobos, the people who live there, and our planet.

Dr. Barthelemy Pondolo Saidi - Surgeon, Kokolopori Health Clinic

With seven years of medical training at Lovanium University in Kinshasa, Dr. Saidi graduated in 1976 with a specialization in Medicine, Surgery and Births. Over many years of service as a hospital director, medical director, director of public hygiene, and National Public Health Inspector, Dr. Saidi has been called upon to help combat numerous epidemics, and is an accomplished surgeon.
