Dr Saidi Oversees the Midwife Training Program
Dr. Pondolo Saidi is the sole physician serving this remote community of 8,000 residents in Equateur Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is an experienced surgeon with extensive background in public health and general medicine.

The first nine midwives in the program completed their training in fall 2009, which focused on hygiene, prenatal consultation and techniques to assist with difficult deliveries.
