Summary

Help all children achieve a great education. EdVillage supports transformational school leaders to open excellent schools for the most impoverished communities around the world. This project supports the launch of new college prep schools in the townships of South Africa and the slums of India.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The world's poor do not have access to high quality, college-prep schools. School in underserved communities are not providing quality instruction.

How will this project solve this problem?

EdVillage supports transformational school leaders from around the globe that seek to start high-quality schools in poor communities. We provide access to world-class school leadership training and support the start-up of schools by linking these school leaders to the knowledge gained by a global network of excellent schools. EdVillage is currently working in India and South Africa.

Potential Long Term Impact

Developing school leaders and high-quality school networks will not only provide an excellent education to more underserved children but create a platform for systemic change to improve the traditional public education system. EdVillage will demonstrate what it takes to prepare all children for higher education and share its best practices with governments and education providers around the world to increase the supply of high-quality schools for low income communities.
