Tanzania, one of the poorest countries in the world, has one of the lowest secondary school enrollment rates, and one of the highest dropout rates of girls. Only one in four girls continues past the 7th grade. The most effective way to assist vulnerable and disadvantaged girls in Tanzania is by providing them with a quality education. This is what Nurturing Minds is doing for the SEGA Girls School in Tanzania.

Most girls in Tanzania have little hope of a productive future. Being one of the poorest countries in the world, with one of the lowest secondary school enrollment rates, and one of the highest dropout rates of girls.
How will this project solve this problem?
Nurturing Minds, a non-profit organization based in the US, is working to change the world through the education and empowerment of these vulnerable girls in Tanzania by giving them a High School education combined with practical business and life skills.
Potential Long Term Impact
The most effective way to assist vulnerable and disadvantaged girls in Tanzania is to provide quality education. Research has shown that educating girls at the secondary level results in: Higher wages and better jobs, delayed marriage and lower birth rates, better health, nutrition, sanitation, immunization and education for their own children. When 10% more girls go to secondary school, a country's economy grows by 3%.
