Talia Agler Girls Shelter(TAGS) is a program of Centre for Domestic Training & Development, initiated with funding from Global Fund for Children to support vulnerable Children and youths globally. TAGS assists girls and young women who are victims of domestic labor, human trafficking, child labor, forced labor, refugees, victims of Sexual and gender-based Violence and other forms of human rights violations. Your support ensures their access to education, empowering them for a better future.
Kenya is a hub for human trafficking, affecting girls and young women as victims. Deceived by promises of a better life, they face sexual exploitation and forced labor. Limited aid exists for their recovery, with scarce organizations offering shelter, education, and support. Many fall through service gaps, amplifying their struggle for healing and a brighter future.
This project tackles the issue by offering survivors a comprehensive 4R Approach: Reach, Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Reintegrate. By providing a secure environment and essential resources like Shelter, Psychosocial support and Educational Scholarships, survivors can heal, learn, and regain control over their lives. Partnerships with both State and Non-state actors amplify advocacy efforts. Additionally, prevention strategies target vulnerable girls, educating them on abuse recognition and support.
Talia Agler Girls Shelter endeavors to break the cycle of exploitation and vulnerability afflicting survivors, potentially shaping a future where girls and young women can thrive as empowered members of society. Empowered and educated survivors, will go back to the community to confront the culture that contributed to their abuse as they will have reclaimed their voice and regained their agency. By engaging survivor voices, the project will trigger a movement for advocacy by survivors.
