Summary
Ear Candy Charity will host an Instrument Drive to collect & distribute musical instrument donations to school based programs in the midst of continuing educational funding cuts.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Arizona is currently dead last in per person educational funding and arts programs are the first to get cut.
We focus on serving low income communities with 90%+ children on free or reduced lunch programs who are dedicated to providing arts education for their students. Music is our Universal Language and the children of this world deserve the opportunity to be exposed to its powerful influence.
How will this project solve this problem?
Ear Candy's Instrument Drives have addressed the growing epidemic of music being ripped out of schools. We have impacted THOUSANDS of youth who would not have had the opportunity to play an instrument with our community driven efforts.
Potential Long Term Impact
We create CULTURALLY ENLIGHTENED MEMBERS OF SOCIETY with our efforts. Music education Increases Likelihood of Graduation, Keeps Students Engaged & Off The Streets, Increases Self-Esteem, while developing Team Building & Social Skills.
Project Message
I play the trumpet. I play the trumpet, because it is awesome. It is awesome, because I get to practice and play all day. Without music, there will be nothing here. Music is everything.
