To make smart charitable donations, individuals must have access to information about the activities and finances of organizations. Chilean organizations lack the resources to be transparent, as they do not have the technical knowledge or capacity to publish their data. Donar provides a platform for those organizations, facilitating the donation process by connecting potential donors with projects in need. A donation to Donar is investing in future generations, helping Chileans help each other.
Chileans believe in their society. There are over 15,000 civil society organizations in Chile. Due to lack of funding, resources, and technical capabilities, about 10 organizations receive the majority of charitable donations. Under-funded organizations dont have the means to achieve their goals, unable to share their information or promote their cause. Typically, the Chilean citizen chooses the more visible option, preventing hundreds of valuable causes from making an impact in their community
Donar strives for quality donations that truly make a difference. We promote the development of less established organizations by featuring a more diverse and wide array of causes. Our non-discriminatory platform levels the playing field, giving everyone equal opportunities to promote their projects and receive donations. This benefits both the individual donor as well as the organization in need. By donating to Donar, you are investing in future generations, helping Chileans help each other.
Donar hopes to be the virtual home of hundreds of Chilean organizations, raising their visibility and donations. We plan to double the number of well known organizations from 200 to 400. Our goal is that every user is inspired by an organization from within our platform and chooses to start a relationship with them, donating their time, services, or resources. As this same problem affects many Latin American societies, Donar plans to replicate this open-source platform throughout the region.
