Ranking the severity of vulnerable, persons with disables, older person, children, women head families are facing many issues during the flood. Mobility with in stagnant water, transporting their life saving Food and NFIs is difficult and they feel insecurity, violation of dignity and lose their assistive devices. Now humanitarian actors are working in grounds and engaged in rescue / relief services, but this special group is facing critical issue of dignified access to relief and recovery.
More than 110, 987 person with diablities inlcuding 37348 children and 39677 women in 8 flood affected districts of Sindh province are being suffereing. Those already vulnerable are put in a position of heightened risk, and are frequently less able to access aid and support. There were a large number of households affected by the floods which were identified as having specific vulnerabilities such as women, children and men. They don't have dignified access to the social services.
There is a need to develop Access Point for Vulnerable "APVs" one in each UC wise to facilitate these groups to safe and dignified access towards the rescue and relief services, to provide them assistive devices for mobility. Accordingly need assessment, strong advocacy and coordination with all clusters at all level is essential to develop the referral paths. Through these APVs the persons with disablities will be provided the relief and recovery services with dignity.
110,987 Targeted Disabled person (women, children and old)groups have identified and organized andTargeted disable persons having equitable and dignified access to life assistance and early recovery initiatives. Awareness about personal and Social Safety and security among the targeted group as well as Non Disabled Community. A strong mechanism exist to ensure safety and security of targeted population. Maximum number of targeted population being fully informed and settled with durable period.
