We need to raise $300,000 for a stand alone rescue building as fast as we can. Our continuing mission depends on YOU! About us: Critter Camp fills a unique niche here in the United States. It is the ONLY exotic pet rescue of its kind that is USDA licensed and volunteer operated accepting only unadoptable small and unusual pets.

Challenge

THE URGENCY IS REAL. As the founder and president I run virtually everything, however I've had a series of medical issues in recent years, and although I've always worked through them, no one is immortal. So, before we encounter an insurmountable crisis, we need to build a standalone sanctuary that isn't on my property or in my home so others can carry on the mission when I'm no longer able to do it. Also having the rescue in my home tripled my homeowners insurance-not sustainable.

Solution

We've been in operation since January 2004, and we want (and need!) to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2024 in a new building. The good news is that our nonprofit corporation already owns the land that the new building will occupy. It is zoned for a shelter and has been perk tested so a well and septic tank can be installed. And it will forever belong to the rescue, no matter who succeeds me (Beth Randall, Founder and President) in the future

Long-Term Impact

Our stand alone facility will Provide a forever home to thousands of unadoptable small and unusual pets for many many years to come. Remodeling the Barn to hold more animals will get them out of the house and will remedy the insurance issue temporarily and give us time to regroup.
