Summary
Your donation will help 6 New York City high schools get their kids ready for college by using an online tool to navigate the college access process.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
New Visions needs funding to bring an online college access system to 6 schools in our network. 6to16 is an online college access system that starts in grade 6 or 9 and tracks students through college. 6to16 includes a college access curriculum and social networking that allows educators and peers to mentor students online, and to assist them in the college exploration process. There are also e-learning modules for each grade, which makes it easier for counselors and teachers to use the program.
How will this project solve this problem?
Funding will go directly to support 6to16 training and implementation in 6 high schools with facilitation from the Urban Education Institute and New Visions.
Potential Long Term Impact
6to16 will help our schools begin college preparation early, and through a structured, school-wide approach. The end goal is success in college and career for all of our students.
Project Message
High schools can make college enrollment a reality for their students by providing intentional and structured college access supports.
