Hoops 4 Hope (H4H) supports youth and community development in South Africa and Zimbabwe by combining the joy of playing sports with an effective HIV/AIDS– prevention and life-skills curriculum.
Our Skills4Life curriculum provides young adults with the facts about HIV; and a safe forum to discuss important issues. The information is presented in fun and informative ways that adolescents and young adults can understand. Through Skills4Life, children are taught 7 tools for success: Integrity, Responsibility, Self-Esteem, Self-Awareness, Ubuntu (empathy), Sense of Humor and Focus. Other topics include HIV/AIDS prevention, conflict mediation, and drug and crime prevention.
