Strengthen women’s cooperatives, develop management skills of the members, and improve the economic position of the women through income generating projects and sustainable agriculture practices.
In Nepal poverty is not just a lack of income. It is a lack of resources, opportunities and skills. The poor – especially women - typically have poor quality land, limited rights, widespread illiteracy and limited access to financial services. But with training and support, women can come together and jointly save money, give loans to each other, and invest in income-generating activities to improve their lives. More groups are requesting this type of training and support for them is needed.
The project will provide 300 women with training on sustainable agriculture, women’s empowerment, and business and leadership skills for successful income-generating projects. It will also provide seed funding for women’s cooperatives to get started.
Improved food security and livelihoods through economic development opportunities while also improving the natural environment. Advance women’s leadership development, encouraging their active participation in local governance and create institutions
