This project aim at addressing illiteracy among underprivileged children by constructing a portable classroom to provide them with serene and healthy learning environment. Currently we have managed to mobilise these children under an open nature shelter where we meet everyday to study. Situation on ground such as frequent bumping of people into the premises does not permit sound studies. With a portable classroom we guarantee these children right to quality education no matter their background.
The percentage of deprived children in the community is incredibly high. A lot of out of school children, street children, orphans and working children live within the community. The roots of the problem involve lack of financial possibilities (from family) which leads to child labour work, lack of education and illiteracy. With the project "Build a School for 200 street children in Ghana" these underprivileged children will be guaranteed the access to free education in a safe environment.
With the construction of the classroom block to facilitate our street corner education, a large number of disadvantage children can be reach-out to gain their educational right. Also these children will have access to safe and serene environment of learning and study. Other disadvantaged children will have the possibility to attend the school and in this way making steps ahead in fighting illiteracy and guaranteeing the right of education to all.
The organisation volunteers will continue to teach 200 underprivileged children, that are actually our beneficiaries, in the new structure. This will allow them to study in a safer environment compared with the one they are currently learning (a busy open space within the community) by providing free of charge education and improving their literacy level and the one of future generation.
