We are drawing girls closer to school, giving them a positive attitude towards education to articulate the need for girl child education. You are building them a dormitory facility in Kayunga Uganda
Reports show a high rate of school drop outs characterized by early pregnancies and forced marriages by guardians therefore leading to a bad attitude towards education. In the rural Eastern Uganda, over HIV/AIDS has greatly affected the girl child up to 6.8% in Kayunga District. These vulnerable children also move long distances to school from their guardianas homes making it hard for them to concentrate in class. The project builds them a dormitory facility with beds
We operate a primary school that offers free education to vulnerable children especially the girl child. And so we intend to build a dormitory facility for the girl child drawing them near school giving them a positive attitude towards education
We shall have a dormitory facility by the end of 2014 and be able to serve over 7000 girls who will have the chance to stay in this dormitory through their study at the project by 2020. Chances of HIV shall be minimized by 80% as girls shall always be at close lookout by the caretakers at school. We also project a reduction in school dropouts and early pregnancies by 50% due to a positive attitude towards education. Distances from home to school shall be cut off too
