Heinz Krummenacher received his MA and PhD in Political Science from the University of Zurich. He worked at Swiss Defense Department, the Swiss daily newspaper “Der Bund” as Foreign Editor and at IHA-GfK, a leading research institute, as Head of Social Research. Currently he is CEO of BEFORE, Managing Director at swisspeace and a member of the UN staff college’s Early Warning Preventive Measures.
Melanie E. Kawano taught at a Northern Vietnamese university and worked at the International Career Advancement Program, the Center for China-US Cooperation, IFES, and the American Red Cross. Her research explores the generational affects of war on combatant versus non-combatants and ethics in humanitarian intervention. She currently is the VP on International Career Advancement Association Board.
