Summary
Discussing and clarifying the conflicts that threaten the bio diversity and ultimately the sustainable development of Southern Amazon to aid in environmental awareness.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The southern portion of the Amazon, in the State of Mato Grosso, hosts the greatest bio diversity in the region. Notwithstanding, it faces the highest rates of deforestation in Brazil. To protect this natural heritage, two reserves were created: Cristalino State Park and Cristalino Reserve of Natural Heritage. However, cattle ranchers and logging companies do not recognize the reserves and have had a negative influence on the local community, which can potentially undermine conservation efforts.
How will this project solve this problem?
Amazon School offers participants the opportunity to study first-hand the natural history within the context of basic ecological and evolutionary principles They are exposed to the major environmental problems and invited to discuss the solutions.

Project Message
The challenge is to contribute to the birth and adoption of a new paradigm of respect to nature in the region. This is only possible through the education of the new generation; this is my motivation.
