Improve the health of underprivileged women and adolescent girls by giving them access to low-cost sanitary napkins.
Underprivileged women and adolescent girls will directly benefit from our project through social change. Low-income women in Bangladesh cannot afford to purchase sanitary napkins (cost: $1 per packet). So they use unhygienic cloths during menstruation and then suffer various infections and reproductive health problems. Many must be educated about the necessity of using sanitary napkins to maintain good health.
Set up of a low-cost sanitary napkin plant that utilizes simple machines and local products. Napkins will be targeted to poor women and girls working in garment factories and those who are already learning about proper hygiene.
Phulki envisions a future where women and adolescent girls can grow in an environment that is not only free from genetic infections but also provides them with a proper hygienic lifestyle.
