Thank you for your support to help provide care and healing from emotional trauma for children rescued from trafficking.
A Tributaries International mental health team visited India in August to assess how we can help with psychosocial needs at a home for children. The timing of our visit was important because of circumstances currently threatening the children. The intensity of the situation causes high stress for the children as well as the staff who serve them. While there, Dr. Lyn Westman, Mental Health Program Consultant for Tributaries, addressed specific current and ongoing challenges.
The center provides care for 27 children. The children living there are now physically safe, but they have seen and experienced many painful things. Most of the children, boys as well as girls, are under the age of ten.
