NFTE's vision is that every young person will find a pathway to success. To continue our work towards this goal, we will be holding a two-week summer BizCamp in the Bay Area to engage local students with entrepreneurship education.
Entrepreneurship education is the fundamental tool for creating an ongoing cycle of learning and innovation that will bring sustainable job creation and re-creation. Young people face historic increases in joblessness, an unemployment rate that is three times higher than that of adults, and a rapidly shifting economy.
NFTE is hosting a BizCamp for local Bay Area students during the summer of 2015. The camp will consist of a full-day, two-week intensive program that is designed to teach entrepreneurship and business concepts to low-income high school students. Our project will purchase materials for the Camp, including experiential activities designed to instill in students an entrepreneurial mindset, and provide for field trips to local businesses.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with over 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
