Greetings from SERUDS

Lavanya is 11yrs old economically disadvantaged girl student resident of Budhavarapeta slum of Kurnool Town, Andhra Pradesh. Her mother is Rajamma, a widow woman who is working as daily wage worker in near by Balwadi School and supporting both of her children to study. She gets Rs.2500/- per month. With this meager income family struggles to sustain. Lavanya is her younger daughter. Lavanya father died with illness. When her father Sriramulu alive her family leads a happy life but after his death the family became dependent on relations to lead further life. She is not getting any sort of educational support from their relatives. Her family has been staying with her grandparents. All of them were dependent on Lavanya mother earnings. It became very difficult for Lavanya to continue studies. Her mother decided to stop studies of her children & take care of house hold work along with their grand parents. But lavanya is having interest in studies, sports & games. By seeing interest in studies, through School Officials mother approached Volunteer of SERUDS to provide educational support to her daughter.

SERUDS Volunteer discussed with lavanya about her educational needs, personal background and supported Lavanya by providing educational material Long and short Note books, Pens, Pencils, Sharpeners, Erasers, Scale, Shoes, Shocks, and Branded new stitched uniforms of two pairs, School Bag. This Educational support has been extended with your generous donation through GlobalGiving. By providing education support to her, family felt very happy. Her mother is very happy to sending her daughter to school again. School Head Master and Teachers also appreciated SERUDS for taken up such wonderful initiatives for the deprived children
