Update from The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation

By Julie Hutchison | President, Co-Founder and Chelsea's Mother

I wanted to update you on Cricket and Marley.  Thank you so much for making this happen for this beautiful young lady.  Cricket and Marley recently returned from their 2-week camp where they met and began this journey.  Cricket explains that this has been a learning experience.  Marley is learning who she is and she is learning him.  For the first-time in 3 months, Cricket has gone two, yes two, days without seizures.  She feels very blessed to have Marley by her side and believes there is a connection with Marley and those two seizure-free days.  That is not uncommon for CHF to get that kind of feedback.  The dogs bring a sense of calm to their handlers, which can only help.

Thank you for helping The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation continue with our mission, which is to grant comfort and hope to those affected by epilepsy through providing monitoring resources, vital information, and a safe haven for conversation and community.

Our main goal is to raise awareness of SUDEP and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families living with epilepsy.  We raise funds to provide education about SUDEP and to provide seizure response dog grants and movement monitors that help to protect against SUDEP.

We stay up-to-date on current trends in medical technology in order to be able to provide the most effective devices as they become available.  We respect the value and quality of life of every person living with epilepsy.

We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow individuals and families greater independence, increased confidence, ability to enjoy social environments, and community understanding.
