Somaya is an Afghan orphan who wants to attend school. Her only option is to attend a private school, but does not have the funds to go to the school. This microproject will provide Somaya with the tuition, books, uniform and stationary she needs in order to attend the private school. Without this scholarship, Somaya will be unable to attend school.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Somaya is a young Afghan woman who would like to become a doctor so that she can help the people of her country. Afghanistan does not have enough public high schools for all students to attend, and where public schools do exist, they often do not offer a high quality education. This project will make it possible for Somaya to attend a private high school, where she will receive high quality instruction, which will make her dream of becoming a doctor a possibility.
How will this project solve this problem?
This microproject will provide Somaya with tuition, books, uniforms and stationary, all of which are required for her to attend a private high school. Without this scholarship, Somaya will not be able to attend school.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will change the course of Somaya's life. By giving to this project, you are opening a world of possibility for Somaya. You are assuring that Somaya will be one of the 12.6% of Afghan women who are literate. If she is able to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor, not only will she be creating a better future for her family, but she will also be helping to improve Afghanistan by filling the great need for female doctors.
