It was amazing to see the smile on Johan's face when he got his new leg, knowing that he can now walk confidently to a better future.
Johan is a lively and energetic 16 year-old who lost his leg due to an infection after undergoing corrective surgery for his feet. He was born with a genetic condition called genu valgum foot (extremely turned-in feet) which prevented him from walking normally, after years of saving, his family finally could afford corrective surgery, but unfortunately Johan contracted an infection during surgery and had to have his leg amputated. He though he would be getting a healthy foot and ended up losing his leg.
But thanks to your generosity, we gave him an artificial leg, and a chance at a new life. Johan can now return to his small town to do what he loves most studying and helping his family. With your help we gave Johan a new prosthetic leg and he can now walk again, go to school and continue with his life as a normal teen. New leg will not only bring him a new chance at life but hope for a better future for him and his family
Johan's mom is beyond happy and says that it is almost a miracle seeing her boy walking again. Thanks to you, we were able to gave him not only a new, but a reason to smile and a new chance at life.
We encourage you to share Johan’s story so more people hear about what Mahavir Kmina can do with the support of people like you.
Thank You!
