This year our community support has still continued support to our staff, villagers, students and rural school. Our Director-in-Training ran child protection workshop to the teachers at public school with 19 participants and also provided advice on creating the child protection policy to make the safe environment for their students and to stop hitting their students which is a big problem here. Additionally, he ran domestic violence workshops to the villagers with 20 participants.
Our Community team ran child protection to the teachers through our Rural school support because child abuse is more common in rural areas. We have provided three loans to our villagers to sell flowers, feed the pigs and expand on their businesses.
Our university scholarship students have passed their exam and they are using their new knowledge at HHA. After months of us researching we started our family farm program to teach agriculture skills to impoverished villagers. Now we have two families who are on the trial and we will evaluate after. The program will be six months so the poor villagers will learn how to have their own farm and get resources from us. They will pay back the money for the resources over one year (it is not too much money) so we can use the money to provide training for more people.
So Community support is really important to empowering Cambodians out of poverty. Thank you for supporting our grassroots approach to development.
