After discovering that many of the patients at our Bhotechaur clinic were walking 5 hours from a village called Chanauti, the head of the village has requested MMW volunteers be brought to the village. These villagers experience many ailments from working long hours in the fields, and find relief with acupuncture. We began by sending Amy Babb to Chanauti to see what the need was. Amy had to turn away patients because she simply could not stand-up anymore after treating over 30+ patients a day!
Clearly, there is a need in this village, as well as a desire on the part of the community itself to bring acupuncture here. Please help us make this happen! MMW volunteers eagerly await to head to the new clinic and treat the many patients requesting our help! It is important we have the proper supplies at the clinic to ensure everyone gets the treatment they need.
Raising $5,000 will allow us to provide necessary needles, herbs, and all other clinic supplies to ensure our volunteers have all the tools they need in Chanauti to treat the community.
MMW provides an education in Chinese Medicine to a local Nepalese students as a way of creating a sustainable form of healthcare within the community. Having the necessary supplies in the clinic helps to continue this mission, providing not only Bhotechaur, but many nearby villages with life-long, affordable community healthcare.
