Once again, we would like to thank you for your support in our 'Pen and Bags' project. Unfortunately, our fundraising for this project has not been very successful and we have had to retire this micro-project.
However, with your sponsorship, we have been able to cover the cost of a few pens and bags. We have also been fortunate to receive donations, such as toothbrushes and soaps, that we have been able to include in the gift bags.
The children are really proud to receive their bag at the end of the week and we feel it is an appropriate reward for all their hard work. It is also an environmentally friendly bag that they can re-use for shopping, rather than using plastic bags.
Don't forget that you can still support our main environmental education programme here or sponsor one of our animals - Lazarus the leguaan, Bandit the mongoose, Jumper the Verreaux Eagle, Yster the porcupine or Shiloweni the leopard.
As always, DAKTARI is so very grateful for your kindness and generosity.
Have a wonderful day :)
Every week we welcome 8 children at Daktari for an environmental education. At the end of their week, they all receive a Daktari bag & pen as memory of their experience. The children love this present, they are so proud to have their own bag.
Attached you can see a pictures of one group of children with their cool bags :-)
This also creates more awareness around the village with their family and friends.
The international volunteers that we welcome here are able to buy these branded Daktari bags, helping us to support for the children’s food and animal care.
Unfortunately our micro project has been closed. We still need $ 909 to achieve this dream. We have now opened a new micro project for the same cause.
Please keep supporting our children for a Daktari branded bag & pen.
Thank you very much for your support toward the pens & bags for our children in the villages.
Ian and Michele Merrifield
Our outreach manager Risette De Haas, she teaches in the villages twice a week. She went to the Eco clubs on Monday with some of the new branded Daktari pens. So she decided to reward the children when they participate in class. Attached you can see some pictures of the kids who got a pen because of their good work.
They really enjoy it and are very proud. Jeremiah (eco club student) even said that he would write his exams with his Daktari pen.
