Matias is a five year-old boy who lost his leg due to a bad injection that perforated one of his arteries when he was 2 months old. Matias has never walk on his own and with your help we want to give him the opportunity to have a better future and a happy childhood
Matias is a sweet and happy kindergartener from Medellin, Colombia. He lost his leg when he was two month old due to a botched injection that burned one of his leg arteries. Matias has always gotten around with his the support of his mother a small crutches, but his biggest Christmas wish this year as every year is to have a new leg to walk and play with his friends.
Providing a new leg for Matias will allow him to develop and grow happy and healthy, he will be able to run, climb trees and even ride a bike someday. As his mother says, a new leg will not only change Matias' life and his future opportunities, but it will be a blessing for his entire family. His artificial leg will improve his development chances, streghten his mucles and allow him to have a normal childhood.
Makavir Kmina provides prostheses to 250 amputees per year. This project will provide in a one-year period, prostheses to 20 children and youth between 1 and 25 years old who have suffered lower limb amputation allowing them to become independent in their daily life activities. This is important because they will have the opportunity to return to school, college or work, thus improving their living conditions and those of the people around them.
