This project will help establish sanitary dish washing practice in the Parbat, a far flung district of Nepal. The sanitary dish washing pits will be constructed in 100 households of the area where proper facility of dish washing is not accessible. The water collected in the pits can also be reused for farming purpose, therefore, this project also aims to induce reusing culture in the area.
Parbat district is quite rural with no accessibility of facilities like dish washing. People wash their dish outside their kitchen in de-sanitized manner. This enhances chances for water borne epidemics and infections, water pollution and promotes unhygienic practices. Also, the water which can be reused for agricultural works as well as other stuffs goes mostly wastage. The project will help to maintain hygienic environment and induce water reusing facility for agriculture promotion in village
The project will select 100 households from Parbat district and construct the dish washing pit. This is basically the idea provided to us by the village women themselves. The dish washing pit will be designed in a way which stores the used water and can be reused again for agriculture and other similar purpose. This will help to maintain a clean and sanitized house with support to agriculture. Also, It helps to facilitate women by introducing them to new technology and utilizing their time
The project will bring an innovative change in village with increased awareness among women about safe and sanitary household practices. The maintenance of sanitized environment will also reduce the risks of epidemics and infections whereas the re-usage of collected water will help for irrigation purposes. This will motivate and support the entire village and in long term, will help to build a cleaner and safer village. Also, it helps to reduce the workload from women of households.
