Dear DAKTARI marmoset lover,
Our project "Help us spoil our baby marmoset" has been retired and we would like to say a massive THANK YOU for supporting our loveable marmoset at DAKTARI. Although we did not reach our target of $1200 for this micro-project, the money that you have donated will go a long way towards the marmoset' food, care and everyday life enrichment.
Unfortunately, I have to inform you that one of the baby marmoset passed away 1 month after his birth. Everybody at DAKTARI was so upset. We received lots of kind and supported messages from our followers "He lived with love in your hands. Now he doesn't suffer any more, free and happy in paradise of marmosets". Thank you again Caroline for your sweet words. The weeks following the loss were not easy for all the familly but we are happy to see that everything is doing well now.
We learnt a few weeks ago that the baby marmoset we have is... A BOY! A pretty healthy little boy! After a brainstorming and a vote between volunteers and followers, we all decided to call him... Mowgli!! We hope that you also love that name :) Mowgli has a lovely temperament and has become an ambassador here at DAKTARI. Like his parents, he loves to play with the children and the volunteers when they go in their enclosure to clean it up. He jumps everywhere, likes to hide, he is curios of everything, eats well and he enjoys the warmer weather now that summer is on the way. This kind of interaction is one of the best ways for the children to develop an appreciation and compassion for animals, so we are very lucky to have such a sweet-natured marmoset.
Would you be interested to become a monthly sponsor for the marmoset, and providing funds for his care? Please click here for more details or email us!
Once again, thank you for your kindness and consideration towards the marmosets and the work that we do here at DAKTARI. Without the support of people like you, it would be impossible for us to provide a safe haven for the many injured and orphaned animals in our care.
We are looking forward to hearing from you soon,
The Marmoset family & The DAKTARI team!
