TGI is the only Arab American youth philanthropy program in the country. This unique model teaches high school students about community issues, grantmaking, nonprofit management, communication and compromise, and community leadership.
The Detroit area continues to face numerous challenges, including economic divestment, environmental issues, the hazards of abandoned buildings and vacant land, among others. Detroit desperately needs strong youth advocates to spark change at the grassroots level.
Encouraging youth to get involved in their community through National Arab American Service Day cultivates leaders from an early age. This youth-led service project will deconstruct 2 abandoned houses, board up 2 other houses, plant a garden, and other community revitalization initiatives.
By supporting the TGI program, you will give minority youth a voice for change in their community, while also benefiting a multitude of individuals served by education and health nonprofits.
