Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary

Critter Camp's Mission is to provide a safe, healthy, happy forever home to unadoptable small exotic and unusual pets. These animals are unadoptable due to advanced age, chronic illness, aggression and/or excessive fearfulness, generally from abuse or neglect. Many come to us from other shelters where they were to be euthanized. Our main goal is to provide care for as many of these forgotten pets as possible. Critter Camp's secondary goal is to educate the public on the needs of these pets for two outcomes. One is to help current pet owners provide better care of their pets, the second is to prevent impulse buying of these types of pets by creating educated potential pet owners. Critter C...

Welcome Vixen, Baby, Maddie, & Zeddy!

Critter Camp strives to care for the unadoptable and unique pets that have nowhere else to go. We give a healthy happy safe loving forever home to the elderly, abused, aggressive, and just plain unusual pets that shelters cannot handle.

Miss Vixen is one such pet. She is a silver fox kit, about 6 weeks old. She was bought from a breeder who obviously did not require any proof by their customers of ability to care for an exotic pet. He could not care for her and only 5 days after buying her and realizing she was not the type of pet he could care for at all, he did the right thing and found Critter Camp.

She is an absolute joy! Very loving, gentle, playful & calm. Her first night here she did very well, she is eating, sleeping and enjoying walks (inside) on her harness. We will probably keep her as an education animal to show people what not to buy on impulse!

We also welcome new ratties Baby, Maddie & Zeddy. They are about 2 years old, a bonded trio and Baby does not like people. Their very sweet owner had health issues and wa going into assisted care. She was desperate to find a place for them to live their lives safely and happy. We are very glad she brought them to Critter Camp! Of our 55 rescue rats, these are our only ladies!

We also took in Brownie the guinea piggy who doesnt like people at all.

Critter Camp works very hard to meet the highest of care standards, to educate the public and to save as many lives as we can! We are grateful for the support of wonderful folks like you who make it all possible!

Happy Easter from all the Bunnies at Critter Camp!

Bunny Easter Feast
Bunny Easter Feast

All 40 of the rescued bunnies at Critter Camp wish you a very Happy Easter! Our two newest rescued bunnies are a pair of elder buns Oreo & Maggie, and feisty biting bunny Hodgy. We hope everyone chooses chocolate bunnies instead of pets this Easter! Rabbits are far harder to care for than most people realize, and they can become aggressive too! We also recently rescued a stray ferret we've named Pogo. He is a little ball of fire and super cute! And we are still having litter of dwarf hamsters from our huge Hamstergeddon 2 rescue! Luckily we have been able to adopt many of the new babies. Thank you for your amazing support of our mission to give a safe, healthy happy home to small unusual and unadoptable pets!

Hamstergeddon 2! Congrats to an Eagle Scout & More

Remember Hamstergeddon ? Well we have Hamstergeddon 2 here at Critter Camp and it's a doozy!

We agreed to take in approximately 27 hamsters from a kill shelter where their time had run out, but when they came they were mixed together and some were having babies as they came in the door!

So now we are up to 70 new little dwarf hamsters with new litters every day! All of the mature hamnsters have been separated so they don't make more hammie babies, but there are still a minimum of 8 females that could be pregnant.

We have the adorable little critters for adoption as most are friendly. Learn more here:

We've also taken in some new ratties, one was bait to train dogs to catch rats: Remy, Paddy & Gandalph the White.

2 new bunnies are on their way here as well!

Congrats to Matthew Olsen for earning his Eagle Scout rank - he created the signs for Critter Camp entrance and our building site!

We have some new sponsors for Tiles in our building! http://crittercamp.weebly.com/our-new-building.html
