Programs

In the frame of the Online Olympiad project 4 coordinators visited to 10 regions in the Republic of Armenia, where meeting-training conducted for our beneficiaries. YJOC (Young Journalists Online Center) is founded in 10 communities of 10 regions. Our regional working groups have formed in this way. Our regional centers are in Ararat region - (village Khor Virap), Aragatsotn region - (village Byurakan), Armavir region - (villages Shenik, Vagharshapat, Metsamur, Lukashin), Kotayk region - (Hrazdan town) ), Lory region - Vanadzor town, Shirak region - village Arapi, Tavush region - village Gandzaqar, Vayots Dzor - Jermuk town, Syunik region, village Shake and Gegharkunik region - Martuni town. During the visits the regional groups were given 10 netbooks for coordinating future works effectively and fast. And each of the group coordinates its regional works, discuss existing issues in the region and achievements, have connection with online centers of other communities. During the visits project goals, objectives, activities and financial sources were represented. Interactive games were organized by means of which communities issues came up and tried to find solutions, knowledge was given about problems exploration of the communities. Arranged visits of 4 coordinators of the Centre to remote adjacent villages in 10 regions. 10 meetings by 30 beneficiaries from adjacent villages will be held in each region. During these visits 4 coordinators gave some directions and information on Centre goals and possibilities, ways of involvement in its activities. These 25 beneficiaries are the best young beginner journalists, who were selected during Online Olympiad program, implemented by Zartonk-89. During the meeting the obtained netbooks would be given to the elder participant of the meeting, who would be responsible for the technical provision at the spot and communication with the Centre. During these visits our coordinators trained them on the basic skills of communication ways with the Centre via the Internet: how to receive the new task, how to send the information to the Centre, how to check and revise the mistakes pointed by the Centre, how to receive the consultation, etc. The Centre established the on-line connection with the responsible persons in regions, to provide them with relevant information and materials through the on-line library. The Centre coordinators kept in touch with the beneficiaries on-line, provide them with news and interesting projects on journalism, gave the directions and recommendations for their professional improvement. Beneficiaries received new tasks and submit their own works to the Centre. Zartonk-89 NGO had a verbal agreement with Noyan Tapan news agency to print and input on the web site our beneficiaries' interesting articles, written in professionally correct ways. The best beneficiaries, works would be constantly accepted by the Agency, became own correspondent at the spot. The Centre coordinated the Network's uninterrupted work for communication journalists between the different regions and remote villages in each region. The Centre permanently identified and encouraged the best articles and materials prepared by beginner journalists. Organized meetings in 10 communities of 10 regions. Created "Young Journalists Online Centres" in 10 communities. Taught them to use the network and how to highlight the communities' issues. Contract signed with the most active member on the usage of netbook and its operation. Virtual training on IT sphere, making blogs, highlighting issues, making and setting up the articles conducted for our beneficiaries in the regions. We have had the following results: In 10 communities of Armenia and Yerevan we have founded YJOC (Young Journalists Online center) In every center we have 30 participants, who are beginner journalists. Developed creative and research skills of 370 young beginner journalists Increased level of knowledge in the field of journalism by means of the created distance educational process Increased level of knowledge of the ICT sector Solution of unemployment problem for the successful beneficiaries. Created a platform to communicate with each other, share ideas among beneficiaries Prepared and disseminated information about the Centre and its activities Familiarized society with articles, materials prepared by our beneficiaries The center members learned and made their own blogs where they set up articles and materials. Created network among Yerevan and regional centers, where our beneficiaries share their knowledge and experience.
