Opening of a new training center in Ubon, the second poorest province the Northeast region of Thailand to provide educational and career services to disadvantaged women of this region for 3 years.
With a population of 1.8 million and high levels of unemployment in Northeastern Thailand, many women are forced to migrate to Bangkok in order to support their parents and children back home. If employed, they are making less than $225 per month. Our new branch will target disadvantaged Thai women, many of whom have never finished high school. The funds raised in this project will support the operation of Goodwill in Ubon for 3 years.
The new office will provide the students with educational training, career services and a community center in Ubon to provide commercially viable skills and the capabilities to increase their job search success rate.
We expect to offer our services to over 7,000 women and girls in 3 years. Successful students using our services out of our current office in Bangkok have achieved on average a 39% boost in their median monthly income.
Through Goodwill Group Foundation, I was placed in a stable job which has helped improve my life and allowed me to support my own family. Thank you so much Goodwill Group Foundation.
