The Sanjeevani Project is a student-established organization that is working to combat illiteracy and poverty in rural India by constructing a primary school in the village of Ananthaiahgaripalli.
Illiteracy in rural India is at 53.5%, the result of the largely ineffective pedagogy. The village of Ananthaiahgaripalli, inhabited by 3500, is exemplary of this educational environment due to the lack of resources that ultimately contribute to a poor quality of life. The historical lack of a foundational and functional educative setting, exacerbated by a lack of government oversight, plays a large role in the current compromised living conditions.
The Sanjeevani Project will guarantee a higher literacy rate, a holistic education, and higher living standards for the village children by providing excellent educational infrastructure, curriculum, trained teachers, and a clean water system.
The project will educate approximately 500 children which will help them improve their living standards, rise out of poverty, and give back to their community in the future.
