NetHope’s mission is to bring lasting change to the world’s poorest communities through the application of Information Technology and the sharing of knowledge. Since inception the primary focus of NetHope has been to develop a collaborative approach to wiring the global village by addressing unreliable communication facilities in deprived areas of the world, particularly those regions where founding members have program.
The Phase Two Project includes a major focus on 21 countries in East, West and Southern Africa that 1) assists humanitarian relief and 2) increases development capacity. NetHope provides IT hardware, software, and training to local NGO’, and dramatically enhances their ability to serve refugees or displaced persons in a time of crisis, or, in development situations, assists remote communities that are struggling to meet basic human needs on a daily basis

Dipak Basu - Executive Director
Dipak Basu has experience as a high-tech executive in engineering, consulting and marketing and is instrumental in developing and leadership of NetHope. Mr. Basu has served as Director of Cisco’s Global Center of Expertise, and founder and CEO of network consulting firm, Informatica. As CMC Vice-President, he set up INDONET, India’s first computer network.
Joe Simmons - Project Manager, Networking
Joe is a consultant at Rutgers University, served as professional services program manager at Cisco Systems and Bell Laboratories.
Frank Schott - Program Manager, e-Learing
Frank has a long career at Microsoft, including General Manager, Europe, and has worked with the UNHCR in the development of software applications for refugee relief in Kosovo
