The honor they deserve

For more than 15 years, 3 Generations has been dedicated to documenting the harrowing stories of genocide survivors, preserving crucial historical evidence, and ensuring that the world never forgets these unspeakable atrocities. We are a safe harbor for survivors of atrocities to tell their stories—brutal, tragic, inspiring, uplifting—in their own words, which will be honored and preserved for future generations.

On March 12th, 3G was honored to host the European premiere of our latest feature film, HERE LIVED, at the Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam. Our Director of Development, Beth, reminiscences on the magic of that night: “Jane Wells, founder of 3 Generations and director of HERE LIVED, the Stolpersteine story, and I made our way to the Tuschinski Theater for a tech check along the legendary canals of Amsterdam. We knew it was an old theater, but we were not prepared for the grandeur of this 100-year-old cinema, the beauty of which we had never seen before. Jane and I were struck dumb as we stood frozen in the lobby, taking it all in. Upon entering the 750-seat theater, we took in the screen size, the balconies, and the boxes, all with large red velvet seating. It was a wonderful and fitting place for the European premiere of the film. Later that day, at the screening, we returned to greet over 100 guests of the German Ambassador to Amsterdam and the American Ambassador to Amsterdam. We were thrilled to see every seat filled in the theatre. HERE LIVED never looked better and received the honor it deserves. It was an evening to mark 3 Generations' history. Our team looks forward to continuing to share this film with broader audiences this year. ” 3G is delighted to announce our New York premiere of HERE LIVED on May 5th at the Marlene Meyerson JCC. To attend, please visit the website here.

Though our week-long small donations campaign with GlobalGiving ended, you can still help us make big changes until April 30th through 3G’s parallel campaign, Leap by Leap. All donations over $500 during Genocide Awareness Month will be matched. If you would like to receive a confirmation about the 3G match, please email us at info@3generations.org.

For information about the issues we support and to watch our films, please visit our website, 3generations.org, follow us on social media, and connect with us via email by subscribing to our mailing list. We thank you for your support; we could not continue hearing their stories and demanding change without YOU.
