Mission

With the vision that No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger, the Akshaya Patra Foundation provides wholesome, nutrition rich food to underprivileged school children so that they can concentrate in studies. The organisation aims to promote literacy in the country and break the vicious cycle of poverty, hunger and illeteracy.

Programs

The Akshyapatra Foundation runs the world's largest school meal programme. With the flagship programme of school meals, the foundation currently reaches out to over 1 million children. The Akshaya Patra project has introduced a series of measures to improve the quality of education in schools through interventions like training of trainers, after school coaching, life skill training and medical intervention of children.The programme also includes overall community development in backward areas.
