From studying under exposed elements to attending school in 2 roofed classrooms, your contributions have made a huge difference to 503 children at Ngora Okoboi Primary School. Had it not been for your donations, the children would have stopped school for a few months. Because the roof of their classroom was rotting, they were studying under a tree and the pending seasonal rains would have completely disrupted their classes. The school administration informed us that the roof needed to be fixed urgently and so we devoted all the money you contributed to replace the roof.
Phase I of our infrastructure project focused on replacing the rotting roof on 4 of the 6 classrooms on the six block classroom and administration building. The project got started in March, 2011 and to date we have demolished the rotting roof, built a ring beam around the brick structure to support the new roof trusses, constructed and installed new roof trusses on four classrooms and installed weather resistant iron sheet roofing on two of those classrooms.
