Friends, Family and Caring Donors –
Global Health Bridge would like to THANK YOU for your generous donations to the GlobalGiving fundraising effort. Frankly, you outdid all of our expectations – of 331 projects, Global Health Bridges was 8th in most donations with an astounding $10,285 raised in a month!!! With your donations, we will be able to continue to build and spread the technology that will help pregnant women and their newborns receive the care they need...and deserve.
Since your donation, we have made some great progress. We have worked closely with our pilot communities and developers to incorporate the improvements suggested by the health workers in the Maternal Health Reporter, in order to make it more user friendly, as well as to address some key challenges in data collection.
One of our team members was able to travel to India in order to better understand the program in action. While there, he witnessed how the program can be incorporated into characteristic rural lifestyles. One family had a single cell phone, most frequently held by the father to be. He left for the sugarcane fields 5 hours away from his village and began receiving messages regarding nutrition recommendations for his wife. He was able to relay those messages back and help improve the health of his wife and baby.
Over the coming months, we plan to continue to make improvements to the platform that will enable us to scale up to new regions – we will keep you updated!
In order to fund this growth, we have more exciting events planned…
We are organizing our 2nd Annual Art Auction Fundraiser in New York City. Last year’s fundraiser raised over nearly $10,000 and we plan to make this year even bigger! Stay on the lookout for an invite where we connect talented local artists to art patrons in support of a worthy cause
Thank you again for helping make a world of difference in the delivery of maternal healthcare
