NOWPDP recognizes that due to historical and systematic exclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs) from society, PWDs form one of the most vulnerable segments of society as they are unable to access the basic resources necessary for survival (e.g., food, water, and mobility devices).
In the past three months, rations were distributed to children with disabilities and their families across Pakistan who were in desperate need of our intervention. A wheelchair bound child was provided with enough ration for two weeks with the help of your donations.
The distribution was carried out on March 10, in UC - 29 Toru Mardan, a UC in Mardan, in the province of Khyber PakhtoonKhwa (KPK). The socioeconomic conditions of the UC were quite distressing. People in Toru, District Mardan are faced with lack of basic facilities and access to healthcare services. The disparities were even more pronounced for the PWDs residing in the area since they form an even more marginalized segment of society.
Your assistance allow us to offer basic sustenance to those who need it most. By alleviating their immediate concerns of survival, the rations serve as a symbol of hope for these young individuals for leading better lives. We are grateful for the contribution of donors like you who have helped us get closer to reaching our goal of providing rations to 200 children with disabilities.
Your support gives us hope for fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
