Social Promise is partnering with St Jude Children's Home in Gulu, Uganda to provide 19 wheelchairs to children with special needs and to support the education and well-being of all the children at the orphanage. Children in Gulu are particularly vulnerable, having grown up in a region traumatized by over 30 years of rebel terror that targeted children.
The people of Gulu, Uganda suffered through over 30 years of terrorizing, growth-impeding rebel activity that led to an enormous increase in the number of orphaned, vulnerable children. St. Jude offers comprehensive alternative family care to orphans and extremely vulnerable children, including children with special needs. This project will provide children with hope for the future through education, safe-haven, and the provision of essential, but lacking, wheelchairs for paraplegic children.
This project will provide 19 wheelchairs to children whose lives are severely limited by complete lack of mobility. Your donation and the partnership between Social Promise and St Jude Children's Home also guarantees that orphaned and extremely vulnerable children have nutrition, a home, and an education.
