GlobalGiving Project of the Month Club

Dear Project of the Month Club,

Last month, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the Project of the Month Club raised $2544 from 99 donors to go toward the various projects supported by the  Safer World Fund. We're pleased to tell you that the Fund's founders, Joyce, David, and Gene--three Americans who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks--matched your donations at 50%, so you actually sent $3816 to be split between "Shelters for Women in Iraq and Afghanistan" and several other important projects supported by the Safer World Fund.

When Joyce and the founders heard about your contribution, they said, “thanks so much for your support -- what a great tribute to compassionate people everywhere. We appreciate your help in fostering positive change in the aftermath of 9/11.”

Your October donations will go to Microfinance For Marginalized Communities, Mexico, funding microloans to 25 entrepreneurs working to lift themselves out of poverty. The loans will be distributed by IMIFAP, and entrepreneurs will undergo comprehensive financial and life skills training as part of the loan process. The training program, called " Yo quiero,  yo puedo“ (I want to, I can), was recently awarded for excellence by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).  We hope you are proud knowing that your donations are helping men and women improve their living conditions for themselves and their families.
